Angry !!gear changing in manual mode!!

Picked up my new CLA 220cdi amg sport 4matic on Monday. Love the car but got a niggle with the gearbox. Whenever I put it into manual mode (only available through command and not dash button) the car still changes gears automatically. Very infuriating as it takes the fun out of having the paddles in the first place.

Anybody else have this and is it something i will just have to live with?

    Thanks

Interesting ... if it upshifts to protect itself thats expected ... though if it also downshifts that is counterintuitive

If it's at a damaging RPM, no surprise it'll self shift. Happened in my previous car.

I notice depending on how much you use the paddles it will switch back to manual driving mode. If you actually downshift while you drive it will stay in manual mode but when I let my car downshift of its on 90 percent of the time it throws the car back into auto mode. I'm not sure if its the same with others but this is just my observation.

I guess it wont let you sit on the redline when there's another gear available. It also wont let you stall in the middle of a junction just because you didn't shift down. However, if it's basically just action like a normal auto then there may be an issue. My car has just been in to the main stealer and received a lot of transmission software updates.

It feels a little more positive. The feeling a slipping clutch is much improved. Time from pulling the lever to car changing gear can now be measured with a clock, rather than a calendar.

I wasn't given anything but when it's back at the end of the month I'll ask and post here. Another 200 miles yesterday/this morning and the 'slipping clutch' feeling is still there, although much improved.
