I'm not tinkering with mine at all. More to the point though, on a car that costs over £30k, why are we having to tinker and modify to make the car more acceptable / refined? I think that's really what this thread is about; I'm not really looking for ways to do DIY fixes.

Agree that a £31k car, brand new, we should not be having to tinker to get it into the condition that we all probably expected it to be in.
Mine is leased so there shall me no more spent on it, nor any "chipping"

I've never been the keeper of a German car. I've been the object of (good humoured) abuse about Italian build quality, residual values, etc. etc. for at least 12 years. Maybe the expectations of the build and engineering quality of the MB were just raised too high.

A couple if questions for my fellow brand new CLA AMG Sport Cdi 220 owners:

MB website Configurator said mine would have:
    Rear seat centre armrest
    Front fog lights

    Mine doesn't - does yours?

Does yours have an "AMG" badge anywhere on it?

    Quality issues

I'm also leasing so I won't be spending out on it either.

Front fog lights: nothing visible but if you look in the manual it says something about front fogs working between certain speeds IF the rear fog light is on. I can only guess they are part of the bixenon functionality (maybe they change angle or something?)

Rear armrest: not sure, will check and let you know.

AMG branding: only on the floor mats and I think on the edge of the wheels...? Will check and let you know about the wheels.

Another quality issue I've noticed is the isofix fixings on the rear seats are the most visible isofix fixings I have seen on ANY car! They ruin the seats IMO!

They are German and functional..😜but yeah - far too conspicuous.
Maybe it is the Hungarian way...😁

Am going to research your theory on the front fogs thanks.

Check the manual and see what you think about what it says

Hmmmm seems this only applies to the "Intelligent Lighting System":

It seems if you had front fog lights you would have a switch:

For England (using the .co.uk website), front fog lights are a £190 optional extra, and the rear armrest: "Rear armrest with twin cup holder and through-loading facility" is a £170 optional extra. Which means my car doesn't have either of those two options because i didn't add them.

For this U.K. region (NI) also we use (.co.uk website) you get the following result from the Configurator:

But I agree, when you go through the price list PDF, you see the fog lights as an option on Sport for £190, but not an option on the AMG Sport:

So we don't have them and never could - may be the Xenon lights cut through fog in an effective way.

The design of the car is great. I shall reach acceptance on all the issues that haven't impressed me initially and I really hope she grows on me.
