Thats good! They didnt milk the labor part. Though even my parts dude at the local dealer here said if service was not willing to comp the install (which is connect a charger plug in the usb stick run and wait) it is a user friendly task. The only oddball case is if the comand firmware needs updating for the nav update to take but thats a warranty update which involves the same work (connect a charger etc) so guess what they can toss in the usb part while they are at it.

I think the last time I did a routine maintenance at my dealer I asked about the map update and I think they quoted me something like $400. At my next maintenance I'll ask about it again. If it's still $400 then I'm going to tell them that their competitor, Ray Catena which is actually closer to my house, only charges $289 and that I will go there and for any future maintenance and repairs from now on. I pre-paid my routine maintenance through MB so I can take that agreement to any MB dealer from what I understand.

Also saw ebay has a $269 deal for software and pin code.
Either way it's a 2015 copyright for a 2016 release ... I think I will wait for the next one as so far the 2013/14
data is working pretty well ... just have to ignore the very occasional "turn left into a jungle" direction. 8-)
OK, another question here as I'm getting more and more interested in the map update. So how do I know if I have the latest Command firmware and what is the latest version?

One way is to engage the engineering menu (for 2014 its hangup+1+#) and hunt for the nav system info then check with a dealer what they have for the latest 2014 firmware version.

Oh this is good to know ... one more year hence too.
Though the "additional" fees part may mean the pin code? If so then its way more than 249.
    Gotta get more info ...
If it does include the pin fee then we can print this and use it for price match attempt 😝

Just a quick update.. I finally decided to do the ECU upgrade from VR Racing. First impressions. (No Box). just unit, harness in a ziplock bag in a plain shipping box. Instructions are online on their web site.

Install was easy, 10 minutes to install 5 min, waiting for the car to sit as per directions. Took it out for a short test drive and WOW! The Car turned into a beast. driving in Eco mode was like OEM sport mode. When you put it in Sport Mode, that's when you really notice the difference. especially between 3rd and 4th gear. Got my CLA to 100 MPH and I was only in 5th gear.

I'm also using a pedal commander to modify pedal response time and it works great in conjunction with it. (Thanks Eric, for the advise).. tried running the Pedal Commander in off position and there was too much lag. so turned it back on in sport mode (yellow led).

I unfortunately ran out of road so i still haven't tried it in standard mode but I'll report back with my findings. So far I'm loving it. I enclosed a pic of finished install and where I mounted the unit. HAve any questions, drop me a note.

    Thanks!
    Dionisio~

Keep us update on how it goes dio. I'm wondering if this would go well with turbokit's FMIC. My warranty is gonna end soon. 5K miles to go so I'm contemplating which upgrade to do first. FMIC or ECU mod/piggyback.

What's the warranty on the CLA again? Is it 4 years/48,000 miles? I'm at 44,000 now.
