    Exhaust Options..

So as i was complaining to john and eric, the exhaust is way too quiet for such an aggressive look. It sounds great on the run/gunning it...

As far as performance goes, a few more hp wouldn't hurt either especially when getting straight pipes or a cat back.

I need to figure out a way to install a system or perhaps parts of a system, in order to give it that extra groan/performance. The catch is, im going to need to reinstall the stock exhaust since its a lease. The reason i leased this car was kind of as a stepping stone to my next car, which will def be an AMG.

Eric mentioned deleting the resonators- wouldn't this void the warranty/dealer not be happy?

Are there any bolt on exhaust systems that need not to be welded?

    Bolt on mufflers?

Sam, you won't void your warranty by doing what Eric suggested. There will be no issues during your lease with the exhaust. And returning on lease won't be an issue either, especially when you say your next car will be an AMG.
I'm sure soon enough vendors will be coming out with cat back options.

I agree, i'm a bit hesitant just to do that though... I'd rather spend a little more money and get a good part together. Resonator improves the groan partially, but it would be nice to get some performance adjusted.

Plus to delete a resonator, don't you have to weld the pipes together?

For what your looking for you'll get more noise and it's inexpensive. As far as performance, you never gain that much that'll be that noticeable. Yeah the placebo effect and your but dyno will say yeah I feel a difference. But I don't know honestly how noticeable it will be. Will a cat back sound better than a resonator delete? Yes a catback will sound better, it'll cost more, there will be horse power gains.

Sam email Borla and see if they are working on one. They have great sounding exhausts.

As long as you dont touch the catalytic converter I think you should be ok to modify the muffler or resonators.

But then again better safe than sorry. I would leave it stock for now or even see if you can swap a CLA45 exhaust later on.

Here's another option HGMS catback exhaust system with titanium tips:

The video was posted in another thread. I checked their website and it's not listed there yet so it may just be a prototype to show at SEMA. You can track their developments on the CLA at their FB page:

I saw this company being advertised at a different forum so I thought I'd share it here:
