    Tesla using Mercedes parts?

I don't know how many Tesla fans are here but for those who are, have you noticed the shifter lever on a Tesla Model X? It is identical to the ones in the non-AMG levers in current Mercedes. I'm not just talking about the shape, size, and location of the lever. I'm talking it even has the same smooth piano black face inlayed in the matte black plastic, stalk a brushed aluminum ring near the "P" button which is also identical. Can't be a coincidence. I don't bother with either but didn't Chrysler used to own Maserati?

I think I saw a Tesla guy waiting at the parts counter at my dealership. Coincidence? I think not.

He was wearing a hat that looked like this...

Well ... now Fiat owns them all.

But sharing of parts is fun days at the parts counter ... the same Ferrari part in my Fiat for the lower price 😜

Back in the day the Ferrari and Fiat parts houses shared two sides of the same building ... practically lived there and parts prices was rent 😋

Maserat has been thrown around from one owner to another for decades. Back in the '80s, Chrysler owned a small percentage of the company -- not a controlling interest to the best of my recollection. I know the relationship yielded the Chrysler TC by Maserati (insert thrown up smiley). Chrysler was eventually bought by Daimler but I don't seem to recall Daimler ever having an interest in Maserati. Eventually Ferrari picked up Maserati -- the MC12 is kind of a badge engineered Enzo...sort of....before spinning them off again.

Now, Fiat owns Chrysler and Maserati (along with Alfa). I guess it's true when they say what comes around goes around.
