Mercedes Logo Flat Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake

source: Up Close with Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake

These pictures are as close our US readers will ever get to this car. Thanks to our spy photographer, we can confirm Mercedes is taking the CLA and replicating the formula it used with the CLS to create a wagon variant of the baby four-door coupe. As with the CLA, the Shooting Brake will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four, with a 355-hp AMG variant set to follow. A seven speed dual-clutch transmission will come standard across the lineup with optional all-wheel drive. As enticing as that sounds, be warned: Mercedes has no plans to offer the CLA Shooting Brake in the US.

I didn't think it was possible to mess up a car as beautiful as the CLA....but then I saw this.

I do like it better than the sedan, mainly because the back seat will be useful, and it doesn't look so melted!
