What's included in the acquisition fee?

With that information we can provide better guidance.

Do these figures sound reasonable? I haven't done a lease before. Thanks.
I can tell you right off the bat the dealer is marking up the car.
Mercedes' acquisition fee should be around $895. Your dealership added $1100 into the deal.
I would look over everything real carefully.
As Eric pointed out, you are not providing us with enough information.
The cap reduction ( or "down payment" ) and total drive off amount are the keys.

The figures are based on the MSRP price $40300. I think the "acquisition fee" that the dealer quoted me is just a lump sm amount of how much is required to drive the car off the lot.

So for 12k @ 36 months for example, the dealer is saying the amount that is due at signing is $2015 acquisition fee + $547.95 first month payment + $75 title + $300 DMV fee. That's it.

I should probably get the money factor, residual, and the acquisition fee break downs from the dealer. Thanks for the help!

    1. The drive off is exactly those items but the acquisition fee is way off base. Should be around $895. Also with the difference of only $10 a month, you would be crazy not to take the 15k per year.
    2. With the quotes given here at the forum, ie. money factor of 0.00160 and 65% residue for 12k x 3 years, the car at $40300 should lease out at under $500 without cap reduction.
Is the $40300 MSRP ? Did they add any mark up ? Do they use the same residue value as the MB special of 65%. If so, they are charging you money factor of 0.00275.
They stand to make $1100 off the inflated acquisition fee, $70 a month x 36 = $2420 off inflated finance charges + whatever profit normally comes with selling the car at $40300.
I may be wrong without knowing all the details but I have a strong feeling this is NOT close to a good deal ! Go bargain down $50 a month on the lease and at least $1000 off the drive off.
Do remember the MB special lease rate is only good till September 30.

I can verify any deal if anyone would like.

When calculating invoice here is something that NO site shows. MBUSA charges all the dealers $700 marketing into every car. So here is how you figure out invoice. MSRP - $925 will give you a number. Times that number by .93 (7%). Take that number and add $700 + $925 and that is TRUE invoice.

    Example:

    $29,999 + $925 = $30,924 Base Vehicle MSRP

    $29,999 x .93 = $27,899 + ($700) + ($925) = $29,524 Invoice

Took a look at the CLA today, looks amazing. I was worried about the screen on the dashboard, but it looks much better in person.

When I went, there were at least 8+ other people who showed up over the course of half an hour to look at it. The dealer had received 7 today and all but 1 had been sold. As I was walking out it sounded like someone was getting ready to sign.

I really doubt that you're going to be able to get under MSRP for some time.
