I don't, my joy lies in letting my 45 rip between 4500 and 5500 rpm, there is no lag to speak of if you do so.

Obviously most drivers don't ever do what I do, which is why it is only my personal judgment, I wasn't speaking for others.

The annoying part of the 45 is its redline is too low, and it cuts off the engine when redline is passed. Hate that, but it is an entirely different complaint.
Actually, I find that the issue is exaggerated or maybe just exacerbated from a start but I experience at speed as well. The only way to mitigate it is either (as you pointed out) driving at high RPMs (which can be both fun and tiresome) or via a throttle box (which does a good, but not perfect job) of masking the issue

I've ground about the fuel shut off in other threads but, suffice it to say I agree with you. It is a different issue but it is also suckage. And, yes, I feel like the redline is too low, as well.

This sums up my approach to handling my complaints with the 45, too...probably because I am still otherwise enamored with it.

Did the new intake with increased air flow, lose any low end torque?

    Hey John,

I was wondering and a friend of mine asked, "how the ECU is attached to and how it seals up tight to the stock airbox?"

    What do you think?

No losses on the lower end should exist. Our pulls started at 2800rpm and we did not observe any losses in torque or horsepower on the lower end.

We use a bracket on the rear of the airbox to attach the ECU in a similar manner to the stock unit. We use weatherstripping and foam adhesive strips lining the airbox to prevent any rubbing and to properly seal the ECU as well as the inlet tube duct. Check out part 4 of our article series for a few images of both the bracket and the seals.

What about the two wiring harnesses that are secured to the right hand side of the stock airbox? Is there a connecting point for these or do they just hang out now?
    Thanks

We chose not to include a provision for that part of the wiring harness because MB uses a specific plastic clip to secure it. We found during our install that securing that part of the harness to another harness with a black wire tie gave a simple, clean looking appearance.
    Thanks!

Some folks are luckier than others. You live in Hawaii, that's pretty lucky too!

They haven't, it's only a pre-production piece used for testing and possibly dynoing.
