How much of a difference with & without Sport Plus? (Custom Exhaust)

So let say I installed an HG Motorsports exhaust into a CLA250 with the Sport Plus, will it sound differently than installed into a CLA250 without Sport Plus? Thanks

The CLA 250 K and CLA 250S sound the same. The CLA 250 Splus has a louder exhaust but not near the tone or decibel level as the HG. All 3 CLA's are the same pipes from the cat forward. If you drop they HG on the CLA 250 sport plus it will sound similar to the CLA 250 basic with the HG exhaust. Don't get me wrong, the HG sounds better than the factory exhausts, by a lot. I have heard CLA45s and they sound good but I like the HG better. It is stronger, deeper and has that nice backfire when it gears down. It is also more aggressive in sound as it revs up, he CLA 250 sport plus sounds good but not as decisive as the HG. He main difference is the helmholz chamber and the absence of the resonator that MB put in the car.

If you are curious about it talk to the guys at HG (ask for Neema, he is the Mercedes guru), they have done multiple conversions and they can tell you if it works or not. I have the HG installed, if you need a sound bit let me know and I can send it to you.

Thank you for such detailed reply. I was planning to order a CLA250 with Sports Plus option today, last day to do so, but I figure I should just spend the $4,000 upgrade into a HG exhaust and get a regular CLA250 4MATIC.

How are the cracklings while shifting up and down? It won't void my warranty right? Some video of it driving/shifting or reving would be fantastic, since I have basically seen all HG related CLA250 videos on YouTube and they're not what I'm looking for.

    Thanks once again.

You also get wheels, suspension, pedals, red accents, red calipers and cross drilled rotors. It's well worth it in my opinion.

Yeah they look great, but I could care less since I am more into the exhaust than any other parts.

Do a little more research and make sure you don't care. The bi xenon head lights, nicer wheels/suspension etc. just giving a heads up that's all.

I am sure you will be happy with whichever cla you get. My cla is my gf car but man I enjoy it quite a bit and already buying upgrades.

I am going to be doing a straight pipe exhaust setup with variable closing valve. So when my gf drives it's perfectly stock sound, but when I get on it I open it up and boom

I am happy with what I will be purchasing within a week, yes bi xenon lights, yes 18" wheels, suspension won't matter at all, well, atleast not for me.

That sounds like a sweet set-up you're getting, make sure to share some videos of your sweet upgrade with me, eh?

MY whole reasoning for buying the sport plus was the fact I could maintain the factory warranty while being able to obtain an exhaust. The wheels red seatbelts and all other knick knacks are just icing on the cake! Food for thought.
