This is a discussion on Oil Filter? within the CLA Maintenance / Care / Detailing forums, part of the Mercedes-Benz CLA Forum category; what oil do you suggest for 30,000miles?...
I use an oil extractor. It does a great job and I do not have to jack up the car., or take off the skid plate.
Makes the job ridiculously easy. BTW that is how the dealer does it,.
Mahle or Mann filters, whatever I can get on Amazon.

I check the (longitudinal) seam ... sometimes even the Mann filters have small separations there
Are you saying "buy only Mercedes branded oil filter" ? ie. part number 270 180 01 09
presumably because Mann-s QA sucks?
I had the following 3 side by side they look identical to me.
Purlator, mann, Mercedes OEM:
All share the heavy resin glue the pleats are set into, and the
pleating looks identical. I think these 3 are all Mann-made.
Mann made .... awww thats a good one!
Wont be surprised of one oem is the main supplier for branding.
Mass production is bound to have fails here and there ... so i have several on hand and examine / pick one as i go along.
Good points about the filter media by the way ... may just take a few apart any study the media to prove their claims?
I use OEM MB oil filters. I buy them online and I my MB tech friend does the work for me. These are the genuine Mercedes Benz oil filters that I buy https://www.mbpartsprime.com/oem/mer...701800109.html
good o' amazon stocks the oem mann cheap and free shipping
quite a few mb parts houses have great prices too but their shipping kills the deal
