I miss that spinning mechanical rod between the gearbox and the meter 😋
Yes to digital recalibration - how many sensor pulses per second for a particular mph reading ... quite the simple parameter entry though of course that means a mischievous pal can hack it and create lots of speeding tickets! 😝

what do you recommend, i'm looking for the quietest, i dont race, i don't track, I just like quiet comfort ride.

I had Hancook V12 VENTUS once on a previous car, and they were amazing,
I had them for over $36k miles too and they kept thread well.

The piece of [email protected]#$ rft potenzas on my CLA now are done at 14000 miles. and they are ridiculously loud.

let me know your recommendations! again, affordable, NON RFT tires.

    thanks.

What did you end up with? Can you post your results and opinions?

Yes I am interested as well. Noticeable improvement between 225 and 235?

I'll be going to 245 40 18's on regular tires instead of the wimpy skinny 225's.brick Perellis'. Im already tired of the sound and the ride quality RF make. A friend with a 16' changed his RF to normal which I drove and found it to be a pleasure to drive even in the city whereas my 10k 15 CLA was a chore trying to weave all the pavement imperfections.

BTW, whats this gap that CLA owners love i read ? The wheel not flush with the fender ?

Agree with the drop in handling. I also recently replaced the OEM Potenza RTF summer tires with all season Drive Guard RFT and I noticed the decrease in handling and traction with the Drive Guards in dry conditions. I spin the front wheels a lot more with the DG but the ride is more comfortable and I can actually use them in light snow.

I'm using Michelin Pilot A/S, and registered a small improvement in comfort and no decrease in handling.

I suspect low profile is more the culprit in ride and comfort than the runflat vs conventional argument.

Next time I'm gonna see if there's a Michelin grand touring tire that will fit. I've had good luck with their handling capabilities on other cars.

The 050A Potenzas do have a somewhat sticker and hence faster wearing compound, as compared to the longer lasting but more slippery compound on the DG.
It's always the same longevity/comfort vs handling/noise compromise ... though someday a revolutionary polymer compound will be discovered that will yield
100000 miles life with very little road noise and provide 1.3g handling ... right when tires are no longer needed for cars ... 8-)
