Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone has removed the clock spring assembly from there steering column and could help me figure it out. I got the sheet, airbag and the assembly off but it’s attached my a leather/plastic trim. Can I take this off? I need to put a new assembly in because my clock spring is broken and causes the airbag light and a warning to go on. Thanks.

This is long shot but try calling benz main customer service
Note you have the clockspring recall issue (and it actually failed!) but for some reason your vin got missed
Request a goodwill fix at a local dealer cuz the airbag could deploy at the wrong time and cause an accident

Worse case is pay for it (airbag problem!!!)
The parts are practically zero
The official labor is 0.4hr so figure 1hr

Hope this all works out

I got it diagnosed at a Mercedes service center, and they wanted a 1,000$ for it which I thought was ridiculous that’s why I was going to fix it anyways I’ll try to call thanks again!
