What was the mileage at the last transmission service?
Was it done at an MB dealer?
Welcome to the CLA Forum 747Lover...to any ideas y'all might have before I go too frustrated and just take it into the shop.
I purchased the car with around 65k on it and unaware if the previous owner had done a fluid change. I also haven’t serviced the transmission with a fluid change since I purchased it. Most likely it has original fluid in it.Welcome to the CLA Forum 747Lover

A few years ago I felt the start stop eco mode was rougher than usual and read online it could have been the aux. battery. I replaced the aux. battery. It’s a 2014, when was the last time the main battery changed ? The transmission is controlled by software and the electronic sensors. You might to change out the auxiliary battery as well.
I changed out my batteries and it fixed a number of electronic gremlins.
To give you context in my main battery change, my CLA also had no CELs thrown for a weak battery. Car starts normally, but I had electronic gremlins, blind spot monitoring malfunctioning when the outside temp is cold, and the auto start/stop function not working. Car seems to drive fine, however, gas consumption is poor.A few years ago I felt the start stop eco mode was rougher than usual and read online it could have been the aux. battery. Now that I’m thinking about it I’m not sure the last time I replaced the main battery. It definitely has some years on it but also the car starts and has no obvious main battery issues. I was considering doing a fluid change in the tranny but it’s $450 and hesitant because if it is indeed the tcu I just wanted to do what the problem is. I guess this could be the first signs of the battery aging but hard to imagine the battery has such a strong connection to the transmission.
Hey great idea on the battery! Just came back from Autozone and they tested my battery and the cranking health failed. Interstate battery is only 38 months old so fairly young. Clearly I need to get my main battery replaced and I’m guessing that is the next step. Hopefully it’s just the battery and not the transmission. Crazy how they might be connected. I will report back once I’ve changed the battery. To give you context in my main battery change, my CLA also had no CELs thrown for a weak battery. I changed out the main battery, and all the above issues were fixed. Fuel consumption is back where it was when it was brand new. I can't stress the criticality of a good strong battery status, it affects so many parts of the car's operation.
I just had mine replaced last week. I had the same issue once stuck in Eco.I have some great news. The issue happened again and finally threw a code. P0339 which is crankshaft positioning sensor. I’ll be replacing both and hopefully good to go
I will see after replacing the sensors if there’s any change but jeez this cars transmission is the worst/jerkiest I’ve ever had. I hate the tranny!I just had mine replaced last week. I had the same issue once stuck in Eco.
Seems good on that since.
I dont know it if related, but on a clod start, but downshift are kinda slow... 🤔
