Greetings from Holland. I have a lovely CLA 45 shooting brake in dark grey with black optics package. It is a truly brilliant car, deadly fast and also super practical - which important for me as I have a baby daughter and a big dog to ferry around the place. I regularly drive from the UK to Holland, also to Munich, and it is incredibly reliable and surprisingly economical on long runs. My previous car was a B7 RS4, which I really loved as well - but the fuel consumption and outdated screen was an issue for daily use.
My car is mostly standard except for a dyno tune, which took it to 398 BHP and 560 Nm. Work was done by Chip Performance in Holland, who are official AMG specialists.
Now very happy with the performance of the car I tuned my attention to the interior. The car came with the alcantara AMG line seats in the front, which are pretty good - but I really wanted to switch the proper Recaros which I now have fitted in the car as of yesterday. I believe they came out of a repo A45. I also managed to pick up the matching steering wheel which is super nice, but missing the lane control vibration warning.
The drivers side seat is plug-n-play (even though it is manual, vs the original electric) and has no apparent issues or warning lights, but the passenger side seat has a very different white connector (the AMG line seat has a big connector with 7-8 wires, the Recaro only has two wires). To test the car I just connected the big yellow connector (I believe this is air bags) and left the white connector out, and seeing as I have no warning lights on that all seems to be OK. But then this strange bug appeared with the passenger side window randomly dropping down an inch or so ever time I close the door.
Sorry about the long intro, here are the specific questions:
1. Does anyone have a link for set of wiring diagrams? Seems my A45 seats and my CLA car side wires are also different colours going into the yellow connector, but as I have no faults popping up I'm thinking its just colours that are different, and not the wrong circuit.
2. Has anyone run into similar issues with the window dropping, and could this be from the battery disconnection I did while changing the seats. Seems strange that anything for the window would be wired via the seats...but maybe someone has ideas?
3. Is it possible to keep my original seat bases with all the right connectors for my car, and just change the seat bottom and back to the Recaros? Looking at it it seems like those plastic parts that clip into the metal frame, cant be removed with damaging the clips - looks like a sort of one time use clip. But maybe someone has done this?
All feedback, ideas and discussion points welcome. Many thanks.
