Hey all, first time poster long time reader, anyway...
I have seen a number of people say that the transmission is unserviceable and once the clutch packs go youre pretty much up for a new trans or you have to go to Benz..
This is said about a number of cars but people always find a way.
My question is, with all the people out there modding these, surely a lot of clutches have gone, has anyone had there clutches replaced outside of benz dealership?
Have done a lot of googling and am surprised I haven’t read anything about it..

Not sure if its just the clutch section ... what with all those fluid channels and solenoids in the control hub
Might just be cheaper and safer to get a reman cuz pretty sure you dont want to muck with this unit twice
Also recall a post on the fiasco with the flywheel

Thanks for the good info!

Surely some people are beefing these up somehow though, as I’ve seen a couple cars getting close to the 500kwatw mark.
I get that you can torque limit and so on in tuning, but surely they’d be going through transmissions at that power..

I cant recall what the "limit" is for the 7G ... but 700ftlbs rings a bell?
But of course that's the limit ... pretty sure some teeth somewhere along the drive line are gonna pop
