BG 44K - fuel system cleaner

I just ordered some BG 44K fuel system cleaner , which should arrive tomorrow. I used it before on my old 2005 BMW 525i, and it certainly cleaned up that old engine , it ran like a smooth operator after that.

I will try it on the CLA and see how it goes.

oh … good o’ bbs colloquial shorthand
(y our m ileage m ay v ary) 😋

yeah jectron doesnt have pea though of course dijectron does

funny thing about techron its supposedly already in chevron fuel (which is more than 95% of my fills) so adding 12oz techron into a 13gal fill doesnt seem to change much for my data though the jectron does improve mpg ~3%

will try one of the pea equipped additives soon per your list

I totally agree with your point about Chevtron techron additive in a bottle. One of my old cars that I used to own (BMW 330i) was running mostly on Canadian gasoline (Petro-Canada) for most of the time, back in the early 2000's. And after a while the car was running quite poorly, I then added a bottle of Chevron Techron, and it really did make a noticeable difference in engine operation improvement.

However, if you are running regularly on Chevron gas already, and you throw in a bottle of Chevron techron, I am not sure you will see any noticeable improvement in engine operation. Chevron Techron is good stuff, but from my experience, when compared to Redline S1 and Royal Purple, it is not as potent.
My CLA and GLA main diet is Shell V-power Nitro+. Supposedly better than Chevron gas, but who knows, marketing does wonders in working up the emotions of consumers. =)

My CLA can go approximately 1000km (over 600 miles) on a full tank of gas, if driving mostly on freeway (cruising ~ 90km/h). Not bad for a 2L turbocharged engine.

So that equates to roughly 20km per litre from a 50 litre tank? I know we are not comparing apples to apples, however that is half what I currently use (~10km per litre from a 51 litre tank). I only use BP 'Ultimate' (98 RON) in my tank:

I was putting in a bottle of AMSOIL PI Performance Improver every 5000kms but could not see much of a difference (to be fair I've only done it twice, and I have just crossed 25000kms).

I think I need to take my foot off the pedal...
