I’ve just been issued with a nearly new CLA PHEV and it’s beautiful. It just seems to have one odd behaviour that I can’t work out.
After stopping the car, putting it into park and then pressing the Engine Stop button the boot will pop open. This is with the key laying untouched in the storage bin. Nothing is pressing on the button. It has also done it after the car has been started but not moved yet.
I’ve searched through the manual but can‘t see anything. Am I missing something here and just being stupid?
Important thing to note is there is no pressure whatsoever on the keyfob button.

Ok many thanks. Will do
I had a similar issue in my CLA when the fuel filler door keeps popping open while driving. Some software issue , which they updated And they also ended up replacing the actuator mechanism. They may to do the same for your boot (trunk here in North America )

It’s a really strange one that’s for sure. I did wonder if it was some convenience feature that you could set if you always went to your boot/trunk when getting out so it automatically did it for you since it activates when engine turned off but seems not! At least is hasn’t done it (so far) while driving.

Well it’s one of 4 things, broken key , switch in door, sensor for hands free entry in the bumper or software update all which are dealer fixes, could try your spare key to take that out of the equation, you should be safe driving as the doors a boot lock at 10mph
