BMW, I really hate to rain on your parade, but the new 4-Series is a flop. The CLA 250 is so much of a better choice, it's priced better than the 4-Series and the MPG of the 4-series are a dissapointment. Granted, the 4-Series has a whopping 40 more horsepower than the CLA. Save your money my dudes... smh


Chances are the first production version of the 2015 BMW M4 will arrive at the beginning of next year, when you can expect a price of around $60,000 as a starting point.

When it comes to comparing the CLA 250 to the BMW then I believe that the BMW 4 series wins. When it comes to BMW 435 X drive vs CLA 45 AMG, then the AMG wins by a bit. Then when the M4 comes out the CLA 45 is beat

the 435 will be nice. but im not a big beamer fan, my boy just got rid of his 650i drop top, he said it was always being serviced. smh he almost fell in love with his 5 series loaner car. lol

I completely prefer Mercedes over BMW, but when comparing the 4 series to the CLA 250 then the 4 series wins hands down. Now when it comes to the CLA 45 vs the 435 then the 45 amg wins by a bit. So CLA 45 AMG is superior until the M4 arrives.

Every model will have their pluses and minuses, and they're will always be something newer and faster and have the latest technology. The hardest thing to do is not get caught up in that game and enjoy the decision that you made. Who am I kidding, I do this to myself all the time.

Could've sworn CLA gets 26 in city, not 23. If price were no object, I think the BMW wins (other than the fact that it only has two doors, which is a HUGE con to me). However, if price were no object, we'd be comparing Lambo's and Buggati's. CLA for the win!

Let's not forget that the 4-series is competing with the C-class coupe and A5 coupe, so comparing it with the CLA is a complement for the merc.

Not sure why we're comparing the CLA250 to the coupes of the 4-series. M-B may call its car a coupe because of the roof-line, but it's actually a sedan. IMHO, the better comparo is the CLA250 vs. the 3-series. And in BMW's 3- series, there is a sedan with same power as the CLA, the 320i (and AWD 320iX). It's essentially a de-tuned 328. The base price of the 320i is $32,550, and the AWD version commands $2k more. So, M-B has BMW by about $2.5k on base price. After that, there are lots of tangibles (e.g., 0-60 times, cost of desirable options) and intangibles (e.g., the look of the cars' exteriors and interiors), not to mention unknowns (e.g., how reliable with the CLA be in its first year?). Quite frankly, I don't know how we can really compare the CLA250 to any other vehicle until we have seen, sat in, and especially driven it.

M4 would have to go up against the C63 Coupe. It's a $75-80k car vs $55-60k CLA45 even though it won't have that big of an advantage, I don't think. BMW, however, claims there will be surprises. So we shall see.

The engine doesn't seem that bad on the 4 Series,

BMWs engines are phenomenal. The issue (if you can call it that) with recent BMWs (the 3 shares its engines with the 4) has nothing to do with their engine choices.

The 2015 BMW M4 is really an M3 with a different name, sleeker dress and with fewer doors. From track-day heroism to the daily commute, the M4 represents the perfect all-around car for enthusiasts. <-- smh

Are you talking about performance? They are both expected to be in the 4.5" performance level right?
If the m4 is competing the C63 it has to be good..

Most of us have never seen any CLA in real life let alone the upcoming BMW 4 series coupe.
Really have to see the cars, walk around the cars, look at them from different angles to be able to past judgement on styling.
The 4 series BMW is going to be very similar to the current 3 series. I haven't grown to liking it yet.
I haven't been sold on the CLA either...Yet I am buying one - crazy.
