I took my R-class for service at Mercedes of Portland (downtown) this morning and the service advisor told me that they got a CLA a week ago. She took me to see it and it's absolutely beautiful.

It is in Mt Gray color with light beige interior, AMG sport package and navi. She said it's a demo car so I assume the dealer will keep it for a while. If you are in Portland, you should go check it out. I will go back there again and ask for a test drive. I will post some pictures later.

I just went back with my wife. Apparently, the car is only there for photo shoot and cannot be test driven. it will be there until 6/20.

The exterior is very handsome and doesn't feel too small. I'd say it's roughly the same size of a C class or an Infiniti G37. The AMG package looks nice and aggressive. The star rim looks nice, too. My wife really likes the Mt Gray color; however, I think it will look even better on white, which is the color that I ordered. Interior is in ash (light gray) which makes the interior brighter (I ordered light beige). The 7" LCD that sits on top of the dash looks OK, not ugly but I think it can do better. One think I am a little bit disappointed is the steering wheel. The bottom is not flat. It's the biggest complaint I have on the car.

On the engine side, although I couldn't test drive the CLA, I have a C250 today as a loaner car. The engine is very responsive and it feels like a 6, instead of a 4 cylinder engine. The CLA250 should have a similar feel. I was thinking between the CLA250 and CLA45. Now I think the 250 is good enough for me.

Great photos. Looking at these helped me to make up my mind on the color choice for my new CLA. I called the dealership in Portland and the sales person was well informed on the car. Car was only for photo opportunity. I received call from my dealer in Palm Springs that my order was being placed and I now have official purchase order number. Vehicle will go into production mid August with estimated delivery date of mid October.
