That's a good question. I don't know :(

If it's based on the A-Class platform, it should be built in the same plant. Looks like it'll be in Rastatt Germany.

The A-Class will join its platform-mate B-Class and a forthcoming crossover model at Rastatt. While we've heard plenty of rumors about this crossover, we hope that Daimler's announcement today that it will be the next product sharing the Rastatt line should lead to some more official information about the new model allegedly dubbed "GLA." Daimler sunk some €1.2 billion (nearly $1.5 billion) into the plant to produce the trio of compact vehicles.
GREAT NEWS!!!!

I just received confirmation from a source at Mercedes Benz Canada that the new CLA Class wiil be made in:

Awesome, glad you confirmed and it's in a place you are happy with :)
I may get burned for saying this, but here goes:

I've only owned 5 cars in my life:

1) 1980 Jetta. Made in Germany. Great car that lasted for 300,000km
2) 1992 Honda Civic. Made in Japan. Great car, 1 recall that lasted for 280,000km
3) 1999 Saturn SL. Made in USA. Not so great, lots of recalls that lasted 2 years. Brought back at the end of the lease.
4) 2002 Acura EL. Made in Canada. The worst car I've owned. Traded it in for...
5) 2003 Mercedes C-Class. Made in Germany. The best car I've owned. No recalls and going great at 225,000km.

Now, I know this is totally subjective to what I've experienced and that both the US and Canada make great cars, but like I said, it's my experiences and I want the CLA to be built in Germany, which it will be.

Be gentle everyone. :)

Hey, your opinion is your opinion. Looks like you've held onto your vehicles for a while which is great, you've had good use out of them.

I buy and sell cars like underwear it seems. Probably have owned over 30 easily in my life :)
Interesting. Looks like we'll have to wait to see the official word from Mercedes, but that article makes it sound like it's not in Germany, but other reports and Mercedes Canada says it's in Germany.

I've read that as well, but I also read that it's going to be built in India as well. Perhaps, they're building it in various plants for different areas. India for the Asian market, Hungary for Europe and Germany for North America (or visa versa for Europe or North America).

Well, according to this article, it looks like it's being built in Hungary, at least for Europe.

How do you feel about that CLAMP, I know you were hoping for Germany.

Well, I've never had a car made in Hungary, so I don't know what to think about it yet. I'll definitely give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it's not as big a mistake as VW moving production of their cars to Mexico.

It looks like the Audi TT coupe and the TT roadster are made in Gyor, Hungary and the R8 engine is made in Hungary as well.

I had an R8 previous to my GTR. The car was spectacular.
Will Mercedes have the "European delivery program" for the CLA? Will be in Europe this June -- but not Germany -- and am tempted to make a detour.
I got a kick out of the purchase sticker .
It said 70% made in Hungary and 30% made in Germany .
Engine and tranny made Germany .
The assembly plant is located in Kecskemet, Hungary...

European delivery is available for CLA's...

I had a client ask me about it and I already did all my research...
