Hi everyone,

Here's a list of the specifications for all three models. (I don't know if this is old information.)

I thought it was interesting that it says next to Drive Configuration "4MATIC Permanent All Wheel Drive" for the 250 4MATIC and the CLA45. I thought the all wheel drive was some sort of passive system that would be engaged only if necessary, otherwise it is really just front wheel drive. Does anyone know more about this or heard otherwise?

That's the same list of specs that were provided to me by my dealership in order to make my selections for my pre-order. There were also additional pages that listed the options and other amenities available.

I believe permanent in this case just means the AWD system is always engaged. I other words, you don't have to lock the hubs or anything to switch between the FWD and AWD like you had to with some old school 4WD systems. It is, however, FWD until the system senses wheel spin and then the rears are said to kick in.
