I could be wrong, but I believe that design with the blackened wheels is the Launch Edition. It's got other special design features like special seat stitching.

I would be very interested in purchasing the silver one with the dark grey rims shown in these pics. Are those rims stock or part of an optional package though? I would be willing to buy this one if it's around $30-$33k, but anything between $35k-$40k would make me turn away.
Unfortunately I don't believe those rims will be standard. I think the ones you're referring ago only come with the Launch Edition. See page 33 in this Guide List for USA models. The Launch Edition isn't specified in it yet.I hope that those rims come on the base model. I just don't wanna spend too much for optional stuff. It could make or break me buying this car.
Exactly. Any of these auto ads always have a disclaimer on the bottom in small font mentioning something like "Model shown with optional items"The wheels you saw in the Superbowl ad in New Orleans can't be the base wheels. Because the picture clearly shows the AMG grill and front intakes. And we know that the AMG sport package is $2300 extra. The price may be a base price of $29,990 but they're not showing a base car. There's always small print to those ads. I agree with akacarioca. That's the Launch Edition model.

----------------------Can anybody confirm their findings about mpg? Based on European data in liters, I am guessing 26 mpg for the city.
It's hard to say. This european brochure says the CLA has a combined of 6.2 l/100km which converts to 37 MPG in USA units. But any conversion is never accurate because the Europeans do a different test than our American EPA. So take it with a grain if salt. I do know the BMW 328i has a kick ass four cylinder turbo engine that sips fuel at 6.3 l/100km. So the Mercedes engine should be on par and likely experience low 30's MPG for highway cruising. Can anybody confirm their findings about mpg? That was the calculation that I did. I need high 20s to make sense, otherwise I might have to wait for the Bluetech, is ever comes. It's hard to say. If you are talking about the dark rims that is showing up on most videos, those are part of the "Edition 1", which includes panorama sunroof, seats with neon stitches, etc.I didn't see those rims in the PDF either.
Funny how MB has just about all their advertisments showing the special " Edition 1 " which is the best looking CLA but far from the truth since it's limited and not available to everyone especially since it's going to be over $40k ???If you are talking about the dark rims that is showing up on most videos, those are part of the "Edition 1", which includes panorama sunroof, seats with neon stitches, etc.
This is the name of the game and you would be naive to believe that they would show a bare bones model. Is the same when you go buy a brand new home, where they have all the upgrades just to entice you to buy.Funny how MB has just about all their advertisments showing the special " Edition 1 " which is the best looking CLA but far from the truth since it's limited and not available to everyone especially since it's going to be over $40k ???
