I ordered my edition 1 CLA a couple months back, i stopped in to talk to my rep about my sprinter order and he said that the current status for delivery on my CLA was..."on the ocean". Good news i hope. I also asked him about getting it without a front license plate and he said they for sure could make sure it didn't have one. Thanks everyone for all the great information on the CLA.

Posh, where are you located at?, I am new to this thread and I am trying to figure out quite a few things. Looking at the MB USA site, I don't see anywhere an option to select this Edition 1 pkg, in other words, I don't know what Editon 1 includes and if there is a cost benefit in chossing the pkg versus set of the individual options (in case that Editon 1 has all that I need). Thanks for your help.

Posh, for nearly all cars, the front license plate bracket/folder is shipped with the car but not pre-installed on the car. Typically found in the trunk with other dealer installed pieces-parts. On the front bumper, there will be small witness marks/dimples where the bracket is to be installed. Not pre-drilled from the factory. If you want to ensure a smooth, clean front bumper with no holes then your mission in life will need to be at the dealership when your car is unloaded off the car carrier truck. Even though your salesman may write "NO FRONT LICENSE" on the make-ready ticket, it frequently will get installed anyway. You will need to be there when make-ready does the prep and wash work. The guys in make-ready are the lowest paid people at the dealership and usually don't have much going on in the IQ department. When I lived in a state with no front license plate requirements, I always accompanied the car to make-ready to make double sure that no holes were drilled, no bracket installed and no dealer sticker applied to the rear of the car. Tell your salesman in very firm terms: "I want to know the moment that the car arrives at the dealership and DO NOT prep the car before I see it."

Edition 1 has all the packages aside driver assist and active park assists.
Also it has few exclusive items like night package, exclusive interior and IR sensors on front doors, black light alloy painted wheels.
From cost effectiveness point of view - yes, it is cost effective as for the price of installed packages you get also exclusive items.

Bumperplugs.com is your friend if you get a car with a front plate that you want to remove. :)

Hi ALex, thanks for your response, are you in US?, when using the MBUSA web siter to configure the CLA I do not see anywhere an option to select Edition 1, is this something that has to be done directly with the dealrship only?.. I looked all over the place and no luck ...I'd approciate if you can point to me how to view and order Edition 1, because that is exactly what I want in my car (the guy I am dealing at MB righ now, has no idea about this car, he is just interesed in pushing me a C250 to make his monthly quota!!, a car I found boring and too expensive for what it can offer)

Hi,

Yes, I am in US. I've ordered mine way before configurator become available online. Just saw the spec at dealers brochure/ordering guide and decided to get the car. I was planning to get most packages with black interior and mountain gray exterior anyway.
Just pass by MB dealership and ask to see their ordering hide -- one of the pages there has all info about Edition 1.
