Is there a definitive date for the U.S. ?

Is there a definitive date when we will actually see the CLA250 in U.S. showrooms?

My E350 lease is up now (mid July) and I am considering to downsize and the CLA250 seems like such a better option than the standard C.

MB USA is continuously mentioning that it will be Sept timeframe. Let's hope that this is true. I pre-ordered so I should have a more definitive date on arrival of my car.
the CLA puts the C-CLass to shame. my neighbor paid $50K For a 2013 C 300 what a waste of money

I'll be interested to hear your opinion when you have driven an actual CLA. I have a C, drove the E sedan and coupe, liked them but they felt like 'big' cars to me- more "baby-S" than "large C". That's why I want to drive the CLA45- hoping for C63 feeling with AWD and more economical.
CLA First US Deliveries

I made a down payment - and nailed the first order slot at my dealer - early this year. The production date looked to be the first week in July. But, because I ordered the Sport Package, it's probably going to be delayed to late July/early August. That's because the first few weeks of production are marked as "unavailable" for the SP option. That's apparently driven by the 'limited release' version which has eaten up all the Sport Package supply of goodies. The dealer said I could delete the SP and still get early October delivery or wait until late October/early November with SP equipment. Guess which I chose? DUH!

The whole point of it is clearly to sell the Edition 1's, and i think they're gonna be successful. When the average consumer goes into the dealer and see's the car. They're going to see all the Cla's without sports package and the Edition 1's with the black window trim, black rims, black mirror covers and the sports package. It is going to look so much more exclusive/better than the other Cla's that people are automatically going to go for the Edition 1 cars. It makes the Edition 1 look even more exclusive by only giving it the sports package for the first 1-2 months of release. I'd expect all dealers to sell there Edition 1's first month of release.

If you don't mind me asking - did your dealer offer any discount ?
Are you planning to lease or purchase and if so what kind of per month payment range are you anticipating ?
We are all dying to find out are the CLA buyers getting any kind of break on price.

MSRP minus $500. (mostly because I knew more than the dealer and earned their respect) and, yes, i'll likely lease. I'm expecting something like a CLK type lease, I.e. 24 mos/12k/ year at 3 k down and 340ish a month.

Did you learn that there will be a late delivery of the CLA with the sports package for customers who pre-ordered from your dealer? Reason I'm asking, my dealer hasn't been able to give me anything solid on this.

I too, pre-ordered, I have a production timeframe of first week of Aug. Additionally, with all the talk that I have been seeing on the forum concerning the sports package shortfall and late delivery I'm kind of concerned...
Just want to back track a bit. Who actually started this story about Sport pachage shortage or Panoramic roof shortage ?
Is it just rumor or is it real ? Is it affecting our European friends only or is it a US delivery issue ?
My dealer in NorCal confirmed the panoramic roof delay, said it should delay the car to November. Haven't heard of the sports package delay, but I'm gonna give them a call today on that.
See, that's the issue here because my dealer in NorCal said they have heard nothing regarding shortage. They should know because it is a large dealership and they are aware
they can't sell cars without sunroof. So I am not sure if we are dealing with just rumors or under-informed dealers...
I'm the one who mentioned it to my dealer based on what I read here on the forum. They had not been aware of it till I brought it up and then he verified that it was indeed on backorder.
Zandra, when did you order your car? I was told two weeks ago that mine was coming in August or Sept. Not doubting you, just trying to get the truth. Thx.

Put a $500 deposit down in Feb, the order went in a couple weeks ago they callled to confirm my config. Last week they called and confirmed pricing and that was when they also confirmed the delay due to the pano roof and then said Nov, but i think it's all a guessing game on their end. I don't mind waiting , well that is what I'm telling myself. I am going to be so sad if/when I see one before I have mine
"Started this?" That would be me...

I deposited my car with a purchase order on January 26 and had the dealers first order position in writing. Got early notice of the first pricing and options and, like Zandra, had the dealer confirm my configuration a few weeks ago. So at least a couple of dealers are verifying the SP shortage. And, it's a fact that 1000 SP equipped 'Special Launch Editions' are earmarked for early US delivery. I don't have any reason to not believe my dealer. They've been very straightforward in their dealings with me. I came in the door, got the Internet person, established good rapport and mutual respect with the guy.

When I put my deposit down, I had no choice of options. Was told this was one of two cars the rep had pre-ordered and was able to sell. Each rep has several pre-ordered. Do you think this will mean I should get an early delivery.

Based on all the reliable information I've uncovered you should be concerned. 'Reps' each spec'ed out two cars? WTF? You're the buyer and they're telling you that you get what they decide? Real orders involve a purchase order with the detailed terms spelled out. When the order books open, you decide color, options, etc notwithstanding any factory requirements like "you've GOTTA buy the roof" and "we're gonna be short on SP's for awhile". And the August/September delivery window sounds like a complete pipe dream...

I had a choice and certainly could have ordered the car with any options I wanted and waited a number of months. I only put the deposit down 2-3 weeks ago. The rep has previously sold the owner of the company where I work five cars and was doing us a favor. I'm lead to believe these cars are going to be the very first to arrive at the dealer.

Good luck. Please post the date you get delivery, I think we'd all be interested!
