just preordered from a MB in St. Petersburg, FL to my house in Ft. Lauderdale...got the metallic grey exterior, black on anthracite interior, sports package, and multimedia package....i went through an old family friend who's a broker and while there was initial confusion because the mbusa.com build app makes it mandatory to get the premium package for the multimedia, once i spoke directly to the dealer he assured me that it was possible and that it was the sports package that would be an issue because the factory in Europe is running low on them pushing my delivery date from late September (w/o Sports package) to late October (w/ Sports)....it was fine by me though because i need the car by mid November so here's hoping it stays on schedule!

That's been a issue (automatic selection of premium package w/ selection of multimedia package) that I have been raising within the forum for some time since the debut of the build feature on the MB website. I placed my pre-order back in late April. I just recently received a purchase order number as well as production dates for my car. My purchase order did not include the premium package as I only opted for the sports & premium packages.

Thanks for sharing that!

Say a 5% discount off your order price. In California, you order the car at whatever price the factory set, then negotiate
when the vehicle arrives. You have a day or two to decide if you want the car. If the dealer already have too many on the lot,
he will cut you a deal. I have a feeling the first run or two will be at full retail. Some one posted a $1000 discount off a new order.
That's what I am curious about.

Actually all dealerships are different and the percentage off the MSRP may differ. I know that I will automatically receive a percentage off of the car by being a USAA member (Soldier, US Army) as this was provided to me in writing on a conditional bill of sale that I signed for my pre-order. I'm pretty sure I can negotiate more off of the MSRP, but I'll push that endeavor while I am making the purchase.

it really all depends on the dealer, like i said the broker i went through was an old family friend so he didn't charge a fee andhe in turn went to a dealer that was an old friend of his who didn't charge us any dealer fees and took $1000 off the MSRP right off the bat, plus since it's a preorder if the car arrives and i'm not happy with it i can just say no, which gives me a little wiggle room as to haggling...what my broker did tell me is that on average the dealer is only making $1800 for each one of the CLAs he sells so unless you're buying in bulk, have an in at a certain dealership, or are buying every single possible accessory you can it may be a bit of a challenge to haggle...just my two cents

That way its probably better to buy a more option equipped car then...better chance at a deal.
