Anyone got more info on that ?

My car seems to have a battery drain issue, don't know if my car have the issue for the recall, but i am curious.

interesting … wow geee maybe they should tack on costs incurred from maintainers and associated power bills, lost time (sat at gas station for 3hrs one time), etc
must be happening to quite a few if it got to this class stage
The drain i have after 10 minutes with the car off.. seems a lot 😒🫤

U would think one could find the drain rather easily with that amount of drain. Well haven't had that issue yet. It's always on a tender. Guess I better get one of thoes electronic jump starters just in case. That kind of drain could be alternator. Is where I would start first.
Why the alternator when the car is off ?

I will check each fuse hoping the find something.

Internal failure in the rectifier or issue with alternator windings. A vehicle can sit overnight or less and the alternator can discharge a battery. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and lightly take negative cable and touch it to negative terminal on battery. If it sparks a lot. U have a drain. U will see some small arcing due to the electronics in vehicle. If u see a large spark. Then Disconnect the positive wire on the alternator to see if arcing at the battery become less. If not u will need to Disconnect different systems to see what is causing drain. Alternators are known for these type of problems. Since they are tied to the charging systems and battery in particular. Of course this can get more technical when I speak on Amp draw. Also u can start car and put a voltmeter across battery and turn on all electrical loads and see what the battery charge is. Usually around 13.8 to 14 volts.
our cars have battery charging software and the alternator is not engaged all the time
Charging with the car on is good, i am around 14.5v.

I still would check the draw on battery with car off. I would check it at different intervals. Yeah jmc that charging software, I am not familiar with. Sounds like there could be an issue with the software. Discharging at times. To loose that much,it would almost have to be in that area. Amp draw is one sure way to find out. The alternator just needs to be connected. It does not have to be on. Or that software is allowing things to do what they should not. Which allows battery to drain. Just need to check draw on battery, with engine off. Current is going somewhere.
btw
if the charging voltage is constantly high like above 13v
then either the main battery is dying cuz the system senses the state of charge is poor
or the charging software control profile is screwed up
normal operation should show alternator engaging when the motor is not under load
eg coasting down a hill after going up one

My I need to study that lol. Well since there's a legal issue. Must be something going on. I'm in Texas. So it's warmer here than there. But this is good to know.
if you hook up a cheapy obd reader and observe the voltage you will see what i mean

sometimes it leaves the battery at like 12.4v without charging it even while driving… i get their desire for fuel efficiency though i mean come on charge the darn thing already

😀 Yeah them Germans. To much to come to the same result. I have a Bosh dishwasher. Nice, but to operate it is no simple task. I read the battery charger profile adaption tread, interesting. I still need to get them
measurements for David170.
