According to a report from Engaget, Mercedes is looking to be the first to offer seamless integration of pedestrian, to car, to pedestrian navigation for true and literal Door to Door navigation. MB and Google are working together to develop this technology. While the Google Glass is currently unattainable and über expensive (Explorer Edition is $1500), Google is expecting the USDM version of the technology to be between $300 and $500. This puts it in front of a lot more eyeballs once the actual devices are available for sale to the public.
Navigation could be on the cusp of being better than it has ever been before. No more of the monotone lady telling you that you missed the turn and she is having to reroute you around the block and across the train tracks.
