Hi all

New to the site, new to Mercedes, and very keen on the new CLA 45 AMG.

My local deal has no idea about when we might see them, but they did price up an A 45 AMG for me coming in at around 87K with the fruit. Rumor mill says the CLA may be about 5k more.

I'm keen to get into my first Bavarian after being an owner of predominantly Australian made sports sedans.

I hope the stars align and I'm able to get into a new CLA 45 AMG sooner rather than later.

Nothing wrong with the Aussie muscle cars but I'm ready to drive something new!

Look forward to getting more info in the near future!

Not to get technical or anything but a "Bavarian" car would probably be a BMW since they are based in Munich in the state of Bavaria. Mercedes, on the other hand, is based Stuttgart in the state of Baden-Württemberg. :) Regardless, welcome from another new member. :)

P.S. Nice Holden...that is a Holden HSV, right? If I remember correctly, the late model Pontiac GTO that was sold in the US was based off of that car. The G8 was Commodore based, too. Both were great cars.

Yes it's a HSV Senator, a 4 door sedan. Gen 3 6.2L Chev motor putting out 317KW. The HSV Monaro (a two door coupe) was re-badged for the US market as the GTO

Holden Australia's latest VF sedan is being sold in the US as the Chevrolet SS, and there's rumor that the flagship HSV here, the HSV GTS will get the Corvette ZL1's supercharged v8 engine with something crazy like 430kw.

Sounds all pretty exciting for Holden Australia, but I'm still interested in going a different way this time around, perhaps not specifically Bavarian but at least German ;)
