I've picked up a ton of closeup shots of the various headlight packages available for the Mercedes-Benz CLA and they are below. We've got some studio shots and then some closeups... The headlights are on of the most attractive pieces of tech on the car, and even the base ones look good. However, the Bi-Xenons sure do steal the show.

Here are some close up shots of the Bi-Xenon headlamps...

Projectors on...

Projectors off w/DRL LED on

All off, Hazard on

Here are some shots of the Intelligent Adaptive Lighting which shows a red ring around the projector. I'm not sure what functionality this offers at this time.

Is that red ring an upgrade or does it come with the xenon light upgrade? Whatever it is, it looks very cool and it better be available in NA!!

Its an upgrade, part of the Intelligent Adaptive Lighting. My guess is it may be a sensor to sense oncoming traffic (lights) so it knows when to auto-dim brights. Just a guess though.

$850 isnt bad at all, its cheaper than the xenons on other Benzes. Im sure the invoice price is like 750 or 700 bucks, for this option.

It's a great price !!! In the past the Xenon's would be packaged up in a Tech or Premuium Package costing $2k or $3k and now as a stand along option is a very good bargain that I dont think most should pass up !!

The intelligent light system - as an active part of the safety concept - makes for best visibility in all weather conditions and diverse traffic conditions. At oncoming traffic, illuminated road users, curves, mist or free routes, the system on the situation arises and individually adjusts the light characteristic.Brings light into the darkness: 'Country road light' mode, the low beam is distributed so that the left edge of the road is significantly better than conventional headlights illuminated.Increases dynamic: the highway light activates automatically in two stages: from 90 km/h, the system increases the performance of bi-xenon lamps. From 110 km/h, the inner roadway luminaire's attitude changed in addition, to evenly illuminate the entire width of the road up to a distance of about 120 metres.Improved security: with the extended fog light, the system improves visibility in fog. This is the left bi-xenon headlamps tilted outwards and the beam at the same time lowered down. This light function is activated automatically as soon as the rear fog lamp is switched on and not faster than 70 km/h driving the vehicle.Follows every curve: the active headlights follow the driver's Steering: steering angle, yaw rate and speed sensor data causing bi-xenon headlights in seconds to swing once in a curve is controlled. With the function "cornering lights" from bending lights switch to automatically when the driver operates the turn signals or strikes the steering wheel.Vision without pressing a button: the Adaptive high beam Assistant is always the maximum beam length of dipped headlights available. As a result, it is possible that the pedestrians, cyclists or obstacles can be identified sooner than with conventional low beam. With a camera the headlight range adjustment and the high beams to control so that the road depending on best illuminates the driving situation and advance the road users. The system detects oncoming or vehicle in front cars, it adjusts continually the lighting distance the distance, ends the headlights from vehicles. The high beam is switched on automatically, if no other road users are detected. Special feature: Avoid this gentle transitions abrupt changes.Promotes the visibility of its own: the LED daytime running lights is integrated into the spotlight as "LED torch" and provides for an improved visibility by other road users, and the integrated headlamp cleaning system minimizes the contamination of the lighting system. In addition front and tail lights, the brake light, the flashing light, the reversing light and the fog lamp in LED technology are also the position light.

Is there a way to remove or buy new headlights that come without that yellow reflector? Getting a black 250 and thinking it will look so much cleaner without the yellow relector

there are plenty of people who bake their headlights to soften the glue and pry them open to remove the amber reflectors. They then reseal it.. I wouldn't attempt it but plenty of people who have done it with other cars. Just google it
