Does anyone know if a Mercedes dealership can give you a car for a month or two while awaiting for the one you have ordered? I'm wondering this because i'd like to trade in/sell my GTI a month or two before my CLA 45 AMG arrives so that I get better value for it.

An emphatic "NO" unless you want to buy one and sell it back to them after two month.
In my case, the CLA45 is for my wife. I traded ( sold ) her 2006 350 SLK to the dealer last month because dealers
pay substantially more for a convertible in the warm summer months than during cold rainy winter when the CLA45
comes in.
In your case, just keep the GTI till the new car arrives. Unlike for convertibles, there can't be that big of a difference for the GTI in three months.
For our 350SLK, the difference is easily $3000 since they have to inventory the car till next spring. Realistically, who thinks about buying a convertible in the dead of winter ?
So we sold it to the dealer and they turned around and sold it a week later for a nice profit. Win-win.

Well the dealer told me that it'll be a 3k difference. From what they quoted the trade in value right now as 33k but in November it'll be 29-30k so kind of wanted to save that 3k. Also that sucks because with the VW they gave me a Passat for 2 weeks when I was waiting for my GTI to arrive (They didn't have the type I wanted in stock atm, but they had one ordered for inventory). Wish Mercedes could do the same.

Jak, it's ultimately up to the dealer - it's not like MBUSA tells the dealer they cant loan you a car - but I agree with outsider that it seems highly unlikely unless maybe if you have a relationship with the dealer already (e.g., you or your parents are or have been repeat customers). It can't hurt to ask them but don't be surprised if you get a deer in the headlights look in response to your inquiry.

Outsider, did you pre-order the car for your wife or are you waiting to see it in person? When I told my wife that there would be a 3-4 month wait for one today she said, "Oh, we'll you don't want to wait another 3-4 months from November. If its a refundable deposit maybe you should put an order in now." It's not like I need her permission to buy a car but...well...it's a lot better knowing that my wife is in my corner on the decision! lol. Nevertheless, I'm still not 100% on the decision yet.

Well my cousin recently got a GLK from them which I suggested so hopefully that'll help haha. Plus we're repeat go auto customers (go auto owns the Mercedes dealership) so that should help. Alright I'll probably ask when I come back from Poland or I'll ask Monday. Thanks for the answers though

Eric, A happy wife makes a happy household - in more ways than one :)
My wife is actually against trading in her SLK for the CLA45 but #1, I want the CLA45 and #2, the SLK is on the steep part of the depreciation curve. It only had 45k miles after seven years
and the dealer likes cars that they sold and serviced but if I wait, I may see a big hit.
The other thing is - I really don't want to wait too long for a car. Buying car is an impulsive thing. You sit too long and you may lose interest. Or something else may come along - there is always something interesting that comes along.
I am taking a safe bet on cirrus white and held back on my desire for the Recaro seats. No premium, no multi-media. no 19" wheels. Just red caliper, alcantara AMG steering wheel and panoramic roof. Oh, heated seats and blind spot assist - both items my wife wants. For just north of $51000.
