Hi,

Couldn’t find a post on this, sorry if I’ve missed it. It appears all newish A Class and CLAs have a strange protective cover on the inside of the rear arches on the metal. I think these look poor, anyone else? Has anyone found a way to make them look better?

TIA

Welcome to the CLA Forum Peaks_CLA :)
Nice photo!
Can you be more descriptive of the strange protective cover...an arrow maybe?

Hi, thanks! Here you go… it’s like folded over metal or some kind of hardened coating, probably to protect from stone damage. It’s on every 2019+ CLA I’ve seen…

I see. Would say it is consistent with the body features for all years, so probably not strange.
(Side note: Same as my Jaguar XE.)
That said, we will see if any member has modified the fender wells.

Thanks, yes. For such a beautiful car, it just seems a poor way to protect the arches. Thanks for the replies!

Check eBay Fender Flares - Could that be what you are thinking?

Could be but an expensive way as I’d probably need spacers too. It’s something I can live with, the rest of the car is sweet and compared with the Defender, very well screwed together!
