I don't think it's a matter of malware or anything, but the shopping links scattered throughout the forums are really annoying. Is there any way to shut them off?

What I mean is I wrote a reply and in it I wrote "rear suspensions". Now the two words are labeled "Shopping Link added by Skimwords". I didn't create the link but somebody did or software did.

I know it's been going on for a while now, but I just wanted to speak up about it. It takes away from the whole forum experience and if another better CLA forum goes along that doesn't have it, I'll probably jump ship. It's THAT annoying.

I believe that's in your browser software...probably an app packaged in with something you recently downloaded. Do you have a Yahoo, Google or other toolbar? FWIW, I hate that function as well which is one of the reasons I don't have toolbars running. I don't need the definition of every word I touch with my mouse and I don't need to see every Mercedes on eBay every time I click the word.

You should only see these if you are not logged in.
OK thanks. That explains it. Often I'm reading while not logged on because my browser cleans house (cookies) a routine basis. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, try reading while not logged on and your cookies deleted.

But on behalf of those who might not have an account, it is annoying and a really cheesy way to get income IMO.

And that explains why I never see them because I am always logged in! lol

Thanks Chorizo!!

And, on that note, it's time for lunch!

P.S. Iron, I get it completely. My kids are 6 and 8. Whenever anyone says anything about the "tri-state area" my mind immediately jumps to Dr. Doofenschmirtz. And, if I have to listen/watch Teen Beach Movie one more time I swear I might jump out of a window...."I know what girls like...girls like me..." There, get THAT out of your head now. :D

That's going to be stuck in head for a few hours now.

Since I have girls, I try to make them listen to Candice's blues song "EVIL BOYS"

The only bright spot is my eldest loves watching how its made with me. Being an engineer it warms my heart.

Mine enjoy watching the "how this movie was made" extra material that follows the movies on the Pixar DVDs. I love it. They're constantly trying to figure out the world around them in ways that we, as adults, take for granted. Then again, my daughter also gets a kick out of Chumley on Pawn Stars. She thinks he's hilarious. lol
