3. I was told someone from AMG Germany checked the measurements taken by the dealership.
4. Yeah I've checked at least 4 other CLA's all have the same issue.
Mercedes say the body kit is cut by robots, but I had a Mk 1 VW Golf GTi which had better fitting side skirts. It's poor quality control.

This was the response I received,

"I have now had confirmation that our Technical Specialists have investigated this matter and come to a conclusion.
They have determined that this is not a design fault and the vehicle is designed this way.
I hope this clarifies the situation for you.

That makes sense. Forgot to mention I had already spoken to an approved Mercedes bodyshop, they offered to use "filler" to cover the gap. I can only guess it was some kind of flexible filler. I politely declined. I will just live with this issue as the car is a joy to drive. I will remember to check before getting another Mercedes!
