Here is what I would like you to do.
Find a certified MB Collision Body Repair Shop and ask for a written estimate to fix it.
Then come back here.

Jase, I thought the same because my '14 has a gap as well.
But, psfarquhar's gap actually wraps around, giving the impression that it is missing a fastener or something. So, if he follows the suggestion exactly in Comment #5, the Certified shop will tell him it is already fixed, and then he will know for sure.
