The tires are indeed skinnier and a couple of other things compared to the normal 180:

-the rims are "aerodynamically designed" and made of steel
-the radiator has been partly covered
-the chassis is lower
+ a couple of smaller solutions beneath the car, for instance the rear axle has some extra shield/plastic to make it more aerodynamic

Wow, thanks for the list Svante!

Did they do anything at all different as far as the powertrain goes?

Doesn´t seem that way, when you compare the two models here on the Swedish Mercedes-Benz site:

Mercedes-Benz Sverige - Tekniska data - Modeller

The only difference i see is that the BlueEfficiency has a smaller fuel tank and the earlier mentioned thinner tires. The gear ratios, total weight and all the othes specs are the same.

OK.. pretty amazing they are marketing that as kind of its own model with only those slight modifications.
