Tree sap droppings

I washed my car today , and as I ran my hand over the hood, I could feel each droplet of the tree sap and realized that I should not have parked my car under a maple tree last weekend. In any case, armed with CG pink bubble car wash shampoo, I washed it with a microfiber towel and the tree sap simply melted away to a smooth gliding surface. I think the Turtle wax ceramic coating spray is a huge factor in protecting the surface against environmental fallout such as tree sap. I didn't have to rub it, simply take my shampoo soaked towel and run it over the paint. My previous experience with tree sap on my old cars, which were treated with simply carnuaba wax , it was a bit of work to get the tree sap off.

Last year I parked under a bunch of pine trees at the golf course, 5 hours later after playing a round of golf, got to my CLA, hood was covered with tree sap! I went to car wash immediately, it actually made it worse.

I got home and lightly wiped it with a cloth lightly sprayed with isopropyl alcohol, it did the job beautifully, easily removed the sap, I've had no ill effects after that cleaning.

I worked in the aerospace field throughout my life, always cleaned many parts with alcohol, it cleans surfaces immediately and quickly evaporates.
so you are the one buying up all the ipa
did you use it straight or at 50, 70, 90% ??
IPA is great as a paint surface prep, removing all contaminants, however, it strips the wax coating too. So best to reapply a coat of wax.

you can use machine oil or an oil-based cleaner to be able to clean that stain. If it is not clean, you can use specialized detergent.
Should I park my car under a big tree?
- Parking under the tree will help the car avoid strong sunlight, reduce the amount of snow where the car gets on.
Besides, having a tree cover also helps the car to be cooler, helping to protect the interior of the car.
However, parking under a tree also has many potential pitfalls.
  • Trees can break branches, fall on your car
  • it's also possible that the tree will drip sap onto your car. The plastic can stick to the car's paint and be difficult to clean
