Hi all
I was thinking of getting my car vinyl wrapped in clear vinyl to protect it from stone chips
Has anyone got any experience with this? Good, bad, reccomendations?

Yes, it's often called a clear bra. It doesn't go over the whole entire car, but only on the chip prone surfaces such as front bumper and front hood. It's really your choice where to have it installed (however it does need to be installed by an experienced professional). On my car, I had it placed on the front bumper and headlights, but no where else. I didn't want it on my hood. Stongard, 3M Scotchgard, and Xpel are the main brands. If interested, go to their website and locate an authorized installer near you. Then contact that installer for a quote. It's usually a few hundred dollars. Yes, I would get it again.

My only concern is when it is removed does it damage the paintwork?

It shouldn't if it's done correctly. I'd probably have an installer remove it if/when it became necessary.

Best vinyl wrap I've found is a company called GRAFICO in north Melbourne, ask for Damien and say Daniel estate agent from Doncaster sent you. He does some amazing wraps.

hey guys, i am going to get the roof section vinyl wrapped in gloss black to match the sunroof and mirrors and so on. if you have a look in the pic u will see unlike the E class our whole roof isnt black. I am getting that section blacked out to match the rest. I have another CLA owner keen to do it too. I was quoted $190 by the best in Sydney. Is anyone else keen we will try get a group order?

you would at the point of having it done have that company confirm that they can safely remove it without damage. vinyl and protective clear film should not create any problems when removing, as long as it's not a DIY removal.

I'd be interested in this as well, but unfortunately won't have mine until March/April. Let us know how it goes.

Keep in mind, if you do partial clear bra on fenders and hood, you will see the line.
It's not that noticeable but it's not invisible.

Anyone know if the CLA45 for Australia has black mirrors? If not I will high gloss these too.

Picking up polar silver CLA45 later this week will do the vinyl wrap late the week after and will post pics.

Picking up cla45 on Wednesday now. Forgot they were tinting front windows and apparently all the 45s need "action" on the vehicle pre delivery not sure what it is, presume it is some software upgrade for a glitch or a change of a known troublesome part.
