I use Zaino products on my vehicle. They aren't available in stores, so I have to purchase them online, but they are well worth it.

A kool trick I do is called a wet wax, where I smear wax onto my car while it's still wet after being washed to obtain a high shine.

I have to be insane but am considering getting my car in black as this car in black really gets my heart going. Any suggestions of what to do or not to do to keep black in the best condition possible? I was thinking I would have it detailed 2X a year by a local who comes recommended. I know it only takes one wrong person to ruin the finish and leave those dang swirl marks on an otherwise beautiful car. Also, any on-line resources that anyone knows of are also appreciated.

The best you could do is cocoon your car. Just kidding. It will take a lot of extra effort to keep clean and avoid swirls. Check forum sponsor Detailers Domain. You can also email him (Phil). He's a great guy and will help you keep your black CLA looking its best.

Black CLA looks really nice but keep it up is a real concern. You may want to consider greeting clear bra as rock chips are very visible on black color.

Your car looks super! I also have black and this is the first black car for me. I never understood why some thought so highly of black. Now I know. It is a pain in the ass but when it is cleaned, polished and waxed it shines like no other color. I made a lot of calls to Meguiar's when I first bought the car and then started asking questions on the auto geek web site. I was disappointed with Meguiar's Ultimate Wax but the Meguiar' s liquid carnuba Gold is fantastic. For Christmas I am treating myself to a Porter Cable polisher, foam gun, and a host of Pinnacle products, clay, swirl remover, paint cleanser, polish and wax. But it will be at least April before it will be warm enough to start.
