Hello, ladies and gentlemen.

I’m 19 and I am from Tysons Corner, VA.
I’ve been reading this forum for almost about two months prior to my purchase of my CLA-Class. From April of this year I became a happy owner of my 2016 CLA base model. So far it’s been an amazing car that is a fair combination of power and looks altogether (I love being a CEO of 200hp lol) and it offers an “okay” range for performance customizations.

I’ve already done a hood wrap with the front lip and I hope to make the first unique shadow black CLA in Virginia.

I’m happy to join this community and here are some pictures of my CLA:

Hi All,

I’m Jack from Switzerland and found this forum by looking on the internet as I am planning to buy the new CLA 45s AMG Coupé. The fact is that I was always an Audi-fan / driver, but Mercedes caught my attention surprisingly.

Please, share me your experiences (mainly with the new CLA models ( > 2020) and would appreciate your tips & tricks in the Mercedes world.

Wish you all the best - Stay safe & healthy!

Regards,
Jacks

Hi everyone from Dakar, SENEGAL. I bought 3 years ago a CLA 200 CDI 4MATIC. It's a 2014 modèle with a COMAND NTG5*1 and I would light to change the screen but I am a little confused about which Android screen is the best suitable. based on year of production 2014 or on head unit NTG5*1. Any help?

Greetings from Los Angeles, California, USA! I purchased my Polar Silver 2014 CLA250 base model about 2 years ago (dubbed him "Silver Surfer" for the most obvious reason lol). I just got into mods about 2 months ago. I basically got all my ideas from here, so I'd like to thank everyone, lol! I'm not really a carhead, so I get all my mods done through a couple of local shops I work with closely. If anyone needs any recommendations for any shops in the greater Los Angeles area, please feel free to DM me! All of my mods are cosmetic, and I don't plan on doing any performance mods in the near future.

Here are all the mods I've done so far (all done in the past 2 months):
  • Window Tints
  • Chrome Delete Window Trim (Black Gloss)
  • Roof Wrap (Black Gloss)
  • Debadge
  • Voxx Riva 18" Wheels
  • Custom Center Caps (Undefeated 5 Strike Logo)
  • Undefeated License Plate Covers (Black/Black)
  • OEM Mercedes Benz Stem Valve Caps (Black/Silver)
  • Panamericana Grille (Painted Black Gloss)
  • Android Unit 10.25" Touchscreen, 1920 x 720, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 4 Core Processor, Android 10
  • Aftermarket Backup Camera
  • Spoiler Wrap (Black Gloss)
I haven't had the opportunity to take good pictures of my car, so these'll have to do for now:

I might smoke out my taillights and possibly install a rear diffuser, but for now, I really love the way my W117 looks. Thank you for taking time to read my introduction post. I know it's hard to do during this pandemic, but hopefully in the near future, I'll see some fellow members in the Los Angeles area on the road!

Feel free to ask me any questions regarding my mods.

Hi everyone,
New member here from the UK. This is a first for me, never owned a Mercedes before, the last 14 years i have owned Hyundai's so this is a big leap.
Took delivery 4 days ago of my brand new CLA 220d AMG Line.
It is fair to say I am as proud as punch to own such a beautifully designed car that is an absolute pleasure to drive.

Cloud Tire Sky Wheel Car

Hi all,
I'm 37, from Queensland, Australia.
We bought our 2013 Mercedes-Benz AMG A45 W176 M133 in May 2021 from a "reputable" dealer in Brisbane, Queensland.
The first 3weeks were absolutely amazing! I'd fallen in love with my first euro but it had big boots to fill from my previous little project car and daily drive for the last 8years.
On week 4 and at around 4500km (74,000km on the odo) I started to get warnings, tell tail signs and warnings from the MB ecu that the car wasn't a happy lil girl anymore.
At 4wks and 2days I'd dropped off the A45 at my local MB specialist shop for the 81,000km major and diagnostic tests as to why "limp mode" kept activating.
3days later I was informed it was dire news and the turbo had suffered a catastrophic failure.
Not the news I really wanted to hear after changing jobs just a week earlier and without a daily drive (the other beast had destroyed a built clutch and gearbox 2weeks prior.)

After consultations with the MB specialist and sending the turbo away to a turbo specialist shop locally it was found the impeller was cactus, the rear housing had a stress fracture and it was time for a new turbo.

This had changed plans considerably from keeping the A45 stock for 12months or so to enjoy it and it was now destined to become another of my stupidly deep money pits.. #modifiedcarlife

After some research our new GCG5452R was sent to the same turbo shop and hiflowed.

It was about the same time frame I'd approached a few companies international and domestic about sponsorship and parts to transform out beautiful little non-aero A45 (nan spec - we like to call her) into another beast in the making.

After consultations and consideration of a few deals we ended up making contact with a major manufacturer of aftermarket parts in the US.
Given what I know now and how I'd been treated I'd never ever have made that mistake again.

Their customer PR skills were substandard, communication skills below average and when supplied with our current home address they must have done some research and come to their own determination that the "entire catalogue of their parts" I had placed as my order were "out of budget" and not worth the time of day to reply to someone in a lower socio economic suburb in a semi rural town.
(Little did they know just 3blocks away was a complex that is world renowned for some amazing and ridiculously fast and powerful cars, just a few blokes that grew up in the same car communities and with the same passions I grew up with)

So reluctantly I put notifications on my previous email threads from the manufacturer of these performance car upgrades in the USA.. and to this day (now in build month number 6 about to become 7) I've still not heard from them.. absolutely pathetic!! Customer service is dead.. or was it..

A week passed and I googled "previously stated manufacturer distributors in Australia!

In steps "Prospeedracing Australia" with some PR skills, a few minor promises and little bit of effort and customer service was alive and kicking like only a semi small Australian business will offer, support and endeavour to help wherever possible to a new client with dreams as big as mining asteroids on floating moon rocks travelling at 102⁸km/s.. OK.. well that was a little exaggeration BUT.. they were determined to supply me with the parts I wanted and tomorrow night they were placing their order with the "previously stated US manufacturer" of the performance upgrades parts..
(look if you haven't figured out by now.. I ended up doing what I wanted and ordered the entire catalogue of upgrade parts that were available and not NLA, I really dislike how I was treated for 3months via email like a BS talker and never even had a call or email returned BUT.. I'd read a few above average and a few great reviews about the quality of some of the parts I wanted from said "US based manufacturer with basically the worst PR skills" I'd ever managed to come across in my previous 25years and 160+ cars that had been through my hands in 5countries..
But I was determined to see for myself and try push my little A45's boundaries above and beyond what had been done in the southern hemisphere previously!!)

Skip forward 2weeks and not only had all my parts arrived from the USA via Melbourne via Me and then been dropped at my MB specialist but..
My beautifully manufactured products from Forge Motorsport in the UK had also arrived.

This ball doesn't pick up speed sorry, but living life with lemons and frowns is BS if you can turn your lemons into lemonade, sell that sh!t and make a few $!!
So that's what we have done..
That's what we have and where we stand today is part and parcel of the journey we took yesterday and all days we travelled before to get to where we are today..

Along the way we were approached by an absolutely amazing man that represented a reasonably small performance parts and R&D company that's destined to become one of the best quality and largest manufacturers of MB/AMG parts in Australia and possibly the southern hemisphere!
ZAC Motorsport! (www.zacmotorsport.com)
ZAC Motorsport was and has and will be for a long time to come one of the go to guys for my little A45 project car, his countless replies to silly questions at all hours of the day/night to sending car memes to each other to knowing and having interactions with his personal life and support and commending achievements and goals he has conquered.

As this thread comes to a close but definitely far from the end of where and what can be achieved with your A45/CLA45/GLA45 builds I'd like to reintroduce yourself to me, my car and my life..
I am Adam, I live for my family and my cars, I absolutely love meeting like minded brothers and sisters in the car communities I'm part of, I love learning from others, interacting and advising on builds and projects and setting high benchmarks for others and myself and I love nailing my goals, achieving what was thought "impossible and unachievable"
And this.. this has gotten out of hand (as like my previous builds..)
But this..
This is CRA45Y..

Hi all. I recently found a site (exactly like this one, layout and all) for my truck. So when I bought my second CLA I searched and found this site — and am thrilled to post an intro here. But I’m definitely not reading the 619 posts before mine. :)
Looking forward to participating and learning here.
Before I bought a truck last summer I had a loaded 2014 CLA 4matic and loved it. Traded it in instead of doing a significant repair (the trade value was super beneficial a few months ago). At the time I couldn’t find the Mercedes I wanted but told the Mercedes guy to get in touch if something popped up. 5 months later (last week) he called and said they were going to sell their service loaner. Hmmmm. It’s the color I wanted. It’s the 4matic I insisted in. Only 9k miles. They did the 10k service. It’s missing some features (weird), however I get the value of a “used” car price but because I’d be the first retail consumer buying the car I’d get the FULL warrantee (years and mileage 100% starting on the day I take possession).
So what the heck. I did it. Boom. Quick decision.

2021 CLA 4matic (C118). Premium package. Will be adding a few cosmetic things soon.
