I'm wondering what it is about this car that makes it such a compelling vehicle? There's a lot I like about it. The exterior design is great. I like the size. The powertrain.... eh, I'm not happy about that but the AMG version can fix that.

I also love the interior and the gauge cluster.

Why do you love it?

I love the interior styling as well. Exterior looks really good as well, but if I have to choose a favorite feature I'm going to have to say the INTERIOR

i like the front and rear lights.... cant wait to add a rear wing roof spoiler and maybe a rear lip spoiler and chrome strip between the trunk and rear spoiler...

The interior materials look great, and that's something for MB to toot their horn w/ regards to. Generally speaking, entry-level luxury/premium models from Europe have cheap feeling/fitting components & finishes (relative to their more upmarket offerings). The bits on the CLA look to be of a very high quality, along w/ a good bit of thought & detail/design put into the ergonomics.

Only other make/model I can think of having a comparable interior in terms of perceivable quality at this price-point seems to be the VW CC (and that offering was able to be priced accordingly due to platform-sharing w/ the more ubiquitous previous-gen USDM Passat).

The very aggressive styling of the CLA is what caused me to take a double take and google the car. It looks very much like a baby Mercedes CLS

I like its exterior design. I like that Mercedes designers took some chances not to make it look like every other car in the parking lot. I see hints of a Mercedes Gullwing in its graceful lines. I'll try to go to the NYC Auto Show and see it in person there.

i think that 6 or 7 inch screen may be an option because according to the packages its The Multimedia Package used for the Command system for stuff like Navi,Rear view Camera,Map views, Enhanced voice control system, 6 disc DVD changer, a card slot, and the Sirius radio and weather...
and that Option is an additional $2300...
now if you order the Parking assist and Lane keep assist and Distronic package its another $2250
so really that adds up to $4550 and you have to ask yourself to i really want these features?
i figured earlier that the whole ball of wax so to say with every option is around $40k including the 4Matic.
...we gotta remember that Mercedes is a top brand and they will charge us for every little extra...
at this point i have been going over those Videos from the Canada site you linked and choosing between the optional colors and wheels..
im perfectly satisfied with the Standard package at $29,900 and will just add the Tri Star Hood Ornament ...
guess maybe im getting frugal in my old age... cause in the past i would buy every option not even to use them... lol
anys, we all have the freedom to make our own decisions with our automobile and im just trying to be practical...
like i dont need to tint my windows so dark that no one can see me driving... lol :+)
oh, and i also love the looks of a rear window spoiler... so i figure to spend around $32,900 out the door!
(and have an extra $7,000 spending funds for gas, and having some fun while i still can)

hi Joey, there will be an Aftermarket version of it... but currently the C class has one so maybe the CLA will get one soon...
there is also a Rear Spoiler option for $300 part# 104 on the catalog, so im just assuming they will make one... if they dont, someone will!

What I find compelling is the combination of:

1) Design
2) Performance (for the CLA45)
3) Price
4) Relative Luxury

There are a lot of great cars in the $50-60K price range but most have rather staid designs and even those that perform well do post some of the numbers estimated for the CLA45. There are cheaper sedans out there that boast comparable (maybe even better) performance (e.g., Evo, STI) but they don't offer the same kind amenities/luxury and they tend to have the reputation of being "kids' cars." While the CLA is marginally smaller (at least in the back seat) than the other AWD cars I've been considering (335i xDrive MSport and S4) some of its compromises are balanced by its more interesting design features and performance figures...to me, at least. I put the other cars on par with the CLA in terms of price and luxury.
