hey guys I’m new to the page I have a 2016 CLA250
I’ve been having the same problem I was away for a week and when I got back my car displayed the red battery along with the message “Check Operators Manual” my auto on/off still works, my cluster as well as heat works but on COMMAND it tells me “Please Start engine or COMMAND will shut off in 3 Minutes”. The battery, alternator, serpentine belt are all stock with 161,000km. Im assuming the alternator is the problem since it thinks the engine is still powered off but I wanted to ask you guys before bringing it in for this costly repair, I’ve heard there are fuses that could cause this problem as well as a software update (not sure if the update would apply to my situation or not). I checked the voltage on and it’s at 11.2 while powered on and when I shut it off it slowly goes up to around 11.5, so Im guessing this means I still have a strong battery confirming my assumption about the alternator being the issue! Any help would be greatly appreciated also im getting a code P065B -Status Pending - the alternator has a malfunction. Which I take as another sign that my alternator is the problem?

thanks! I read them I just didn’t see any updates on what they found out caused their problems so figured I’d make a comment discussing my issues! I’m gonna go to the dealer tomorrow and see if they can check the charging data! Hopefully it’ll be something simple like the Aux battery or something!

Sorry for the long time to reply but issue was resolved with a new alternator and battery swap. I ordered the alternator from FCP Euro part number 0009061903 for almost half of what the dealership wanted so if you looking to save a little bit of money with the exact same part this would be my suggestion.

Thank you! A late reply is better than no reply at all! I picked up a used alternator from a scrap yard yesterday it came off a car with only 50,000kms on it for $180 and was going to install it at a friends garage but on the way there I checked my engine data and sure enough the battery voltage was 14.5-14.8 the whole way no matter how much accessories I turned on and everything it was fine my blind spot assist markers were flashing yellow when I first started the car but I turned it off and back on and it stopped so I held off on changing it for now until My new serpentine belt and auxiliary battery show up next week then I’m gonna replace it all just to be on the safe side! I’m thinking it must be a symptom of sitting out at the airport while we got 12in of rain in less than 10hrs while I was on vacation so figured that must of caused some electrical confusion for the PCM, but after a night in the heated garage it must of dried up and worked itself out, Thanks again!

where did you get the rotors and brakes from? I heard mine chirp the other morning and plan on sourcing parts before the swap.

@derickveliz
long time! are those the zimmermann rotors?
notice their "z" coat is more silvery than the oem grey .......
and missing the wear depth dimples which the oem's have
