Sport Body Swap

Hey everybody! New to the forum and to the CLA250. I just picked up my car last weekend and I'm loving it so far. I did not get the sport package because a.) I couldn't find one available that wasn't in red and b.) I couldn't afford to wait to order one (old car died)... Anyway, I really like the sport body style and was wondering if the front and rear bumpers were interchangeable with the sport package bumpers... Has anybody else looked into this?

Yes they are, but I'm sure it will have different bumper reinforcement or some different brackets to bolt it on. I'm going to change my front to the sports. I don't like the rear bumper.

I ran into a similar issue. I order a car with the sport body type however they had one at the dealer that had everything I wanted except the sport package. After looking at one of the sales persons cars. The only thing I really notice as far as a difference was the grill. The dealer swap out the grill for me for 600 dollars.

Its not worth it to change the bumper now. Because its too late and you could get it with cheaper price through dealer before ordering it. Even if u want to buy from eBay or after market it will cost more. Also by changing the front bumper you need to change the grill too. It is a diamond grill and cost around 1000$. Plus another 1000$ for front bumper. Do the calculation. And you'll find out that its not worth it

Actually many people didn't like the sports diamond grill. Search this forum, ppl wanted to get rid of it. I think it was too shiny that it loses the classy look.

Also once it start corrode, it may not look good at all...

I bought a non sport because I liked the front if the no sport more. IMHO the smaller lower side grills and angled lower separators look more sporty that the large lower side grills. And the rear fake air vents look just that fake and out of place.

Sorry if I offended any sport lovers out there but the no sport looks better to me. I had them side by side for over an hour deciding when I bought mine.

Go to Brabus and buy their kit. I wouldn't try retrofit the merc bumpers. Will cost more in the end.
