Initial impressions:
HP and TQ increase CONFIRMED, to the point where my 4-year old 54K-mile Bridgestone Potenzas (which give my CLA free S-class air suspension pun intended), activate the traction control more than I would like. Now I wish I bought the 4matic instead. I haven't really stretched it to the max yet though. I'm still listening for things that might get loose.
Your Potenzas .... as in the oem RE050A's??? at 54K ... what's the tread depth now?

What fault code did you get?
I was referring to the fault codes that you got: P2610 and P0073. I know you got P2610 sorted out. Just wondering what P0073 is. I haven't done a thing yet to my car. Taking off the bumper cover is what's holding me back mostly.

Great write up and glad you are enjoying the new found power! In regards to the fault codes. There aren't any sensors that get removed/replaced on the FMIC or piping, So there is nothing about the FMIC kit that would cause a CEL. The CELs you got are most likely due to having things disconnected on the bumper when turning the car on. Get those reconnected and clear the codes and they should not come back.

Enjoy! :)

Yeah the P2610 did not come back after reconnecting the cables and clearing it. The P0073 (Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High) is only showing through the Torque app as a "current fault". For some reason it's not clearing. But the car is running fine. No CEL. IATs are showing normally.

Oh ... now I am sure your children can get that thing off in a jiffy for you .....

Oh come on ..... you should have let him hang for a week before telling him ..... ;-)

Yep exactly that. Originals from delivery. I have between 4-5mm left in them. Planning to change to all-seasons soon. These Potenzas are HARSH as hell. Grip is mediocre after 54K miles.
Yeah ... they are kinda stiff what with their herculean sidewalls (and mass)
You must drive more straight lines that I do ... mine are already at 4mm/19Kmi/3yr9mo ... either that or your road surfaces are nicer than ours!

So now your IATs are closer to ambient more often, yes?

Decent roads here in Vegas vs say LA. I HATE side streets too. I get to the freeways as much as I can. Only 3 freeways here in Vegas haha

I never really observed my IATs before upgrading so I don't have a baseline but current weather here hovers around 65 in the afternoon and my IATs (via Torque app) average high 70's to low 80s with the upgrade. The car pulls hard all the way up to 5K. On stock, torque drops after 4K.

Lucky you ... practically have sandpaper for roads around here.
With the larger plenum I figure the IAT would run closer to ambient ... like during cruise IAT is around 70 with 65 ambient, or better.
Though the kicker is the wider torque band ... I do notice the power pulls back when the IAT jumps due to the turbo working when punched.

Yes but getting it off in one piece is the challenge.

Each child gets one piece so they dont fight [emoji12]
So for those who have one kid ..... heh
I only have one kid but he likes to share.

Oh I can see it now ...

"Daddy, I got your bumper off! Here's one piece for you, one piece for Mommy, and one piece for me."
Knowing my son they'll be enough to also give a piece for the dog, the fish, our neighbor, and any random person he happens to run in to.

Oh yeah ... I used to hack into my sisters desk and made paper planes (with winglets back then already mind you!!) out of her international money bills collection ... and yup out the window those went when a homeless person walked past and needed it ... though most were perplexed with the foreign currency (no exchanges on my street)

Funny thing is while my sis turned into a bomb of a tornado over it, Mom told her I was just trying to do what they tried to teach at Sunday church - give and do good [emoji39] Dad (banker) said some of the exchange rates were pretty darn good so we might skip a couple church donations since we already “donated” [emoji13] And poor sis just became Ms Dumdfounded ..... if only I had a polaroid

On certain occassions driving whilst engine is still cold, IAT is actually lower than ambient lol. But you're about right.. IAT around 5-9 degrees higher than ambient during normal cruise, when the turbo is on idle.

You'll see as you rev higher and the air is passing the intercooler, you will get better cooling. If you are cruising at low revs you can see the IATs creep, get on it and they will drop during the run, which is opposite of the stock unit. As the stock unit tries to suck all of the heat out of the charge it heat soaks and the IATs will increase throughout your boosted fun, making it no fun :) Our FMIC keeps them consistent allowing the ECU to stick to the max power timing and fuel tables.
