Details on the CLA 45 AMG model for next year are beginning to leak out of the skunkworks. The 2.0 liter force fed 4 cylinder will be pushing out 375 horsepower and have a chest thumping 350 pound-feet of torque. 2015 buyers will be a little upset to see the 20 horsepower bump I am sure. The top end of the gear box will also get some tweaks to help the car be quicker though the longer sprints as well.
All of this translates to 0.3 seconds off off the run up to 60 miles an hour. It gets there in 4.1 seconds which is pretty damned close to the SL63 AMG if you get out your measuring sticks.
You will get some lux stuff as well. As is to be expected from the pint-sized AMG car, you get multiple driving modes via the Dynamic Select System. You get dual zone climate, keyless start, and infotainment systems. There is a fancy badge that reads "Turbo 4Matic" that simply reminds me of 1950's era names for transmission systems, but that is just me. It probably means that this thing is fast and ready to tear down roads without ending up in a ditch without trying too hard.
You get a limited slip differential at the front, AMG Adaptive Suspension, Race Mode, Performance Steering Wheel, and pushes the top speed to 167 mph. At the same time, the AMG Driver's Package is discontinued, and the AMG Performance Studio Package is dropped on the CLA45.
The 2016 CLA45 AMG goes on sale in October here in the US.
